Our West Houston client has an immediate need for a General Liability Claims and Guest Relations Specialist:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works as a Staff Adjuster using Risk Management system to manage an assigned caseload focusing on Guest Relations and Claims Management which includes making decisions about liability/compensability, evaluating losses, and negotiating settlements.
  • Directly investigate each claim through prompt and strategically-appropriate contact with appropriate parties.  Locate and interview guests, employees and/or witnesses to determine liability and claim value, maintain contact with employees and customers, provide information, explain benefits and coordinate claims resolution.
  • Utilize diary management to ensure that all claims are handled timely and managage case back-log. At required time intervals, evaluate liability and manage medical issues and review medical records to make a determination on the cost of the claims.  Process and distribute medical reimbursements.  Verify medical provider bills for reasonable and customary charges.
  • Occasionally, attend depositions, mediations, arbitrations, pre-trials, trials and all other legal proceedings, as needed acting within established professional guidelines and have knowledge of the applicable state laws.
  • Manage the guest relation’s process by entering customer comments into guest relations matters into database, forward comments to assigned department/division/management, and provide regular status updates to customers.
  • Occasionally, assist department/division/management on the investigation of guest matters by contacting facility location and inquiring with management and employees regarding  on the matter.
  • Assist in development of new programs and services as they relate to Guest Relations and Human Resources.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Multiple years experience in handling general liablity claims as an adjuster.
  • Texas adjuster license preferred.
  • Knowledge of Tort and Liability statutes in jurisdictions in some of the states which we operate is required.
  • Skilled in liability and damages analysis and has a thorough understanding of the litigation process, relevant case and statutory law, and have knowledge in litigation management.
  • Claim and/or legal experience and thus the technical expertise to evaluate severe and complex claims.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology recommended.
  • Strong negotiating, presentation skills and organizational skills are necessary.
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills to provide information in a clear and concise manner to communicate with a variety of individuals and to understand, synthesize, interpret and convey, in a simplified manner, complex data and information to audiences with varying levels of expertise.
  • Regular attendance is required.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

This individual will have responsibility for the organization’s accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, the preparation, promotion and interpretation of financial reports for management and external groups. The Accountant will direct and have overall responsibility for general and property accounting, internal controls, forecast, financial reporting, budgetary controls, payroll and all insurance matters.

The Accountant will be responsible for the development and enforcement of the Company’s internal controls and the enhancement of controls where necessary.  This leader will be required to work with the team to generate timely and consistent financial and management reports on a consistent basis.

Responsible for analyzing and appraising operating results in terms of costs, budgets, financial trends, and increased profit opportunities.

Develops accounting policies to comply with generally accepted accounting principles, tax requirements, and management reporting requirements.

Assumes a lead role in development of operating and capital budgets. Exercises accounting control to insure that budgeted expenditures do not exceed amounts authorized without proper approval.

Interprets operating results as they affect the financial aspects of the organization and makes specific recommendations for cost reduction and/or profit improvement.

Assumes responsibility for accounting classifications of all expenditures and documents.

Responsible for establishing formal internal control policies and procedures.

Directs the preparation of monthly and yearly financial statements, including the preparation of charts and graphs showing progress, conditions and results in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Performs other related duties as assigned by senior management.

EDUCATION

An undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, and/or business administration is required. A minimum of 5 years accounting and financial experience is required.  Excellent skills are required in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and written/verbal communication.  In addition, experience with MYOB financial software or QuickBooks Enterprise would be a plus.  A CPA, MBA, or manufacturing experience would also be a plus, but is not a pre-requisite for candidacy.

Manage relocation program.  Establish policies, monitor costs and program effectiveness, and manage vendor relationships. Ensure appropriate cost tracking and reporting with Finance and Payroll.  Oversee International Assignment program for Company inbound and outbound transferees.

Evaluate the effectiveness and functionality of HRMS systems.  Solicit input and feedback on satisfaction level of customers in the effectiveness of such systems.  Research alternatives and improve automated processes, data reporting and data connectivity between enterprise systems.  Provide HR system functional advice to the HR business groups to enable effective decision-making.

Work on potential acquisition due diligence team to review compensation, benefits and system considerations.  Post acquisition, serve as key member of integration team.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Bachelors degree in human resources, business administration or related field. Masters degree, PHR/SPHR preferred.

Minimum of 8 years of compensation, benefits and HRMS experience within a fast growth, high-tech business environment.  Demonstrated track record of success in developing and implementing successful and creative compensation and benefit programs.  Experience leading successful HRMS conversions.  Requires a minimum of 2 years experience in a leadership capacity.

- Make recommendations and possible course of actions for policies and procedures as needed; primarily in regard to recruiting

- Verify rehire eligibility to management.

- Oversee HR recruiting support staff

- Prepare and lead new hire orientation

- Travel to other markets as needed for recruitment efforts

- Assist in other HR duties as needed.

Qualifications:

- 10+ years of verifiable HR generalist experience.  Must be very strong in professional recruiting

- Strong knowledge of MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).

- Outstanding communication skills are a must!

- Bachelors degree and PHR certifications are preferred, but not required.

Requirements:

  • Degreed Accountant with 8+ years of staff or senior accountant experience
  • MAS200 (or MAS90) experience required
  • Self-motivated, results oriented professional
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Quick learner, efficient and detail-oriented
  • Works well independently as well as with a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle and enjoy fast-paced environment

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining general ledger
  • Preparing financial statements
  • Processing month end, quarterly, calendar year end and fiscal year end closings
  • Preparing year end files for audits
  • Account analysis and reconciliation
  • Cash flow analysis
  • Maintaining budgets and forecasting
  • Journal entries
  • Proficient working knowledge of AP/AR process – review cash disbursements, purchase order reconciliations, review cash receipts
  • Special projects as assigned
