Our Katy, TX client is seeking a contract Recruiter.  The Recruiter is responsible for delivering all facets of recruiting success throughout the organization. This will be achieved through the development of local and national recruiting plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources. The Recruiter will play a critical role in ensuring they are hiring the best possible talent.

Responsibilities:

Develop and execute recruiting plans.

Network through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups and employees.

Coordinate and implement college recruiting initiatives.

Administrative duties and recordkeeping.

Work with hiring managers on recruiting planning meetings.

Lead the creation of a recruiting and interviewing plan for each open position.

Our Galleria area Houston, TX client is seeking a long term contract Commercial Paralegal.

Job Overview:

The successful candidate for this job will work with attorneys, Commercial Managers and Regional Customer Team members, other paralegals and administrative professionals to assist in providing legal services and Law support to the Commercial and Operations organizations.  In addition, he or she will need to effectively apply contract and company policy knowledge and utilize organizational and commercial skills to efficiently respond to a wide variety of issues.  The ability to communicate well with a broad range of company employees and external contracts, in seeking and providing information is essential.

The ability to rapidly learn the organization and to efficiently review a significant volume of documents and contracts, while maintaining well organized records, are a cornerstone of this job.  The position requires ability to handle multiple tasks independently to produce accurate, timely and effective results.  Responsiveness and follow-through are critical to success in this role, as well as good organizational skills. The successful candidate must understand and be able to work with contract language.

Responsibilities:

Manage Licensing and Contracts Docket for Law.

Draft, review, negotiate and coordinate approval/signature of agreements for Commercial & Operations groups under responsible attorney supervision.

Assist in management of Export Control program.

Coordinate project management with lead attorney and attend internal reviews as requested.

Assist attorneys in contract and bid reviews and fulfilling bid requirements.

Develop knowledge of Delegation of Authority and other internal policies and other applicable processes.

Develop and administer the Law Department webpage on company Intranet.

Assist in intellectual property and Corporate Secretary matters on an ad hoc basis.

Skills and Experience:

5+ years of experience and Bachelors degree. Paralegal Certificate is not required, but desired. A commitment to obtain Paralegal Certification within two years is required.

Self-starter, high level of initiative and ability to self-monitor.

Excellent interpersonal and organization skills, ability to independently facilitate workflow across multiple functional groups.

Ability to prioritize a continually changing workload to meet business needs across multiple clients/projects.

With respect to commercial licensing activity and other projects, candidate must have the ability to identify the big picture and requisite level of detail and anticipate future needs of both the attorney and business client.

Strong understanding of contract language; experience with license, confidentiality and commercial agreements.

Our Dallas, TX client is seeking a Title Assistant on a contract to possible hire basis.

Responsibilities:
Examine the title and title compliance documentation according to company and title underwriter guidelines and mandates in order for a title policy to be produced.

Review the commitment to either delete or provide exceptions to items where compliance is or is not evidenced as well as verifying the correct policy premium, along with the selection of the appropriate endorsements according to client compliance.

Maintain state title rates and keeping licensing within all states current.

Distribute documentation, producing/printing/delivering the final title policy and opening related mail.
Various administrative/clerical support functions
Check accuracy of preliminary title reports and legal descriptions

Anticipate possible problems affecting title, makes judgments, seeking technical guidance from Title Officers when beyond own technical expertise

Prepare documents and review preliminary reports

Prepares endorsements and supplemental reports

Requirements:
Minimum 1-2 years experience

Understanding of title policies

Real Estate office experience and knowledge of real estate terminology

Proficient with MS Office Suite; RamQuest experience is a huge plus but not required

Tax Manager – Houston Texas

Our West Houston, TX client is in search of a Tax Manager for a Direct Hire opportunity.

The Tax Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Oversee the preparation and/or review of tax estimates for financial reporting purposes (GAAP and SAP).  This includes assisting with deferred and current tax computations, footnotes and analysis to ensure accurate representation of financial income taxes.
  • Manage the preparation and/or review of income tax returns and income tax estimates to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local tax laws.
  • Representative on any IRS and State income tax audits to ensure that tax positions taken are properly supported and represented.
  • Perform tax research and strategic tax planning to ensure business decisions are made with full consideration of their related tax impacts.
  • Assist in identifying ways to minimize tax liabilities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of pending authoritative regulatory and accounting pronouncements related to the tax area and take the lead in researching and documenting certain accounting positions.
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual income tax provision in accordance with FAS 109 and related financial statement disclosures for federal, state and international jurisdictions.
  • SOX 404 documentation and review.
  • Assist with worldwide tax rate forecasting and management under the supervision of the Vice President of Tax & Risk Management.
  • Interface with international finance team on various international tax initiatives including the roll-out of global tax provision policies and procedures.
  • Assist internal and external clients with special projects including federal, state, and international tax planning.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax compliance including property and sales taxes.
  • Manage US tax audits (income, franchise, and sales & use).
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Projects as assigned by management.

Desired Skills & Experience

Skills/Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Accounting, advanced credentials such as a master’s degree in business administration or taxation.
  • Minimum of seven years of tax experience, preferably with a national accounting firm or corporate tax department.  CPA and Big 4 background a plus.
  • Oil and gas services industries tax experience preferred.
  • Previous experience researching complex tax issues and presenting them in a concise manner to internal clients.
  • Must demonstrate competency in tax law, tax accounting, and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of tax research tools, tax preparation software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline driven, dynamic environment.
  • Must be a self-starter who is able to work independently and interface with all levels of management, tax auditors, and internal personnel in finance and operations.
  • Strong accounting, analytical, documentation, research and computer skills.
  • Strong project management and collaboration skills.
