Our Dallas, TX client is seeking a Senior General Ledger Staff Accountant.

Responsibilities:

We are actively recruiting for a Senior Staff Accountant to join the General Ledger Team.  The successful individual will assist in the preparation and financial analysis of monthly and quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule.  Assist with our yearly audit and in the preparation of audit schedules.  Work with Key Operation team members to provide specific explanations on Balance Sheet and Income Statement variances.  Provide interpretation of results for management; identify and develop reports that support company Key Performance Indicators; prepare monthly account reconciliations; provide guidance to other accounting groups regarding accounting issues; maintain foundation tables and financial reports for general ledger system; research and complete advanced special projects.  The day-to-day mentoring and training of staff accountants as well as review of their assigned reconciliations and analysis will also be part of the responsibility for this person.  Maintaining confidentiality of all sensitive information is required.

Requirements (non-negotiable requirements bolded):

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (30+ hours undergraduate Accounting courses)
  • CPA or CMA, strongly preferred
  • Requires 5+ years of General Ledger Accounting experience in a corporate environment,  preferably in wholesale distribution
  • Strong computer, presentation and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working with JDEdwards Enterprise One is a plus
  • Requires experience with a large and diversified organizational structure and chart of accounts
  • Proven track record working for a company with gross revenues in excess of $1 billion dollars per year
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of consolidation; Cost Accounting knowledge is a plus
  • Understanding of law, statistics, and general management as related to accounting
  • Must be detailed oriented with excellent time management skills
  • Proven ability to interface effectively with various levels within the organization
  • Proficient in the utilization of MS products (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Ability to multi-task and complete projects within specific deadlines

Description

Promotes sales and service of client’s pump packages and accessories to established and new customers by providing technical and commercial proposals in response to inquiries, and interfacing between customers and companies facilities, following written policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

Calls on prospective customers and maintains contacts with customers in relation to their requirements

Sells CSS Package products and services to established customers; including technical selection, hydraulic modification requirements, and calculations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Sciences, or related field / equivalent experience and training

Minimum three years experience in quoting, marketing, or engineering of pumps (API 610 preferred)

Excellent written, verbal, negotiation, and interpersonal skills in English language without supervision or oversight

Strong knowledge of pumps, applications, and hydraulics

Ability to work independently and efficiently with little direct supervision

Outgoing personality

Ability to accept rejection and still maintain a positive attitude

Valid state drivers license with good driving record

Proficient in math and computer skills including Microsoft Office

Strong ability to utilize technical knowledge and analytical skills to resolve problems and objections from both internal and external forces

Willingness to travel (by vehicle and air) on a routine basis with occasional weekend stays, as required for given assignment/territory

  • Review and submit payroll files to 401(k) vendor on a weekly basis, including calculating and adding the company match to the file produced by payroll
  • Analyze supplemental files produced by payroll each week (e.g. files that indicate data changes, rehires, employment status changes) and work with 401(k) vendor and counsel where necessary to determine whether further steps are necessary to comply with plan document
  • Work with 401(k) document provider to complete any required plan amendments, and potentially to submit plan for a determination letter

    Coordinate/manage any communications or filings for the 401(k) plan that need to be provided to participants or governmental agencies (e.g. safe harbor notices, annual statements, 5500s)

  • Work to develop a investment policy statement and investment management process
  • Reconcile trust reports against payroll contribution records
  • Manage participant inquiries and research/resolve issues
  • Assist in coordinating educational sessions
  • Assist in annual audit review process
  • Work with 401(k) vendor to complete annual compliance testing
