The Senior Accountant would be part of the finance team responsible for the timely delivery of accounting services and ensure fiscal responsibility on all levels.  The Senior Accountant will be a critical part of the DOFT Team (Development, Operations, Finance and Technology) and will report to the Director of Finance and Operations.  In addition, the Senior Accountant will work with the entire DOFT Team, and occasionally School Principals and the Superintendent.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Journal entries for monthly earned revenue, accrued expenses, credit card payments and payroll

Reconcile cash receipts and deposits, investment account statements, merchant account statements, credit card(s)

Prepare and maintain personnel files including review of payroll and managing TRS reporting

Perform accounts payables reviews and necessary data entry

Manage audit, 990, 1099 preparation work for region, including but not limited to soliciting of engagement letters, managing deadlines, coordinating scheduling, and preparing audit materials

Maintain government grants, including due diligence and collaborating with the educational service center

Assist with reporting budgets and monthly financials

Monitoring financial procedures and internal controls


Requirements:

At least 1 year of work experience, preferred

Thorough understanding of GAAP standards and double-entry accounting required

Work experience with fund accounting preferred but not required

Proficiency in AptaFund accounting software, preferred but not required

Proficiency in MS Office

Excellent computer and interpersonal communication skills

Articulate, professional demeanor with strong self-confidence and initiative

Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high energy environment with proven ability to meet deadlines and complete multiple tasks

High level of personal organization and flexibility

Strong ability and desire to work as part of a team

A passion for the mission of the company

A sense of humor

Bachelor degree with background in Accounting, required

Master in Accounting or Master in Professional Accounting, preferred

The Safety and Fire Compliance Coordinator assists the Director of EHS in championing the Plant’s risk reduction, injury prevention, and regulatory compliance initiatives and helps set the strategic direction for the Plant safety program. The incumbent contributes to the success of the Plant and organization by:

  • Serving as a local subject matter expert in the regulatory compliance and people-based branches of the safety function.
  • Implementing, maintaining, and improving safety programs and processes that educate, engage, and motivate employees at all levels.
  • Assisting leadership and employees in safety continuous improvement projects and activities.
  • Conducting internal safety audits and assisting with corrective actions.
  • Analyzing injury and near-miss information/data to identify trends and establish safety/risk reduction priorities and targeted focus areas.
  • Maximizing the effectiveness of ergonomics programs and initiatives.
  • Serve as the Leader of the Emergency Response Team.  Coordinates training and drills to reduce risk of emergencies, while being prepared to initiate team.
  • Actively partnering in the Process Safety Management and HazMat Response programs.

To be successful you must have a Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety, Fire Science and/or equivalent experience.  You must be knowledgeable in adult learning concepts; behavior based safety; ergonomics; federal and state (OSHA) general industry and construction standards; OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM); Fire Fighting and Rescue, preferably in the chemical industry.

The Safety and Fire Compliance Coordinator must have the innovation/creativity to be able to develop and implement safety programs and processes that engage employees and motivates them to think and work safely.  He/She needs to possess superior facilitation and small group communication skills.  The incumbent must have the analytical ability to interpret technical safety regulations, understand ergonomics, and be able to collaboratively problem solve and assist with the implementation of corrective actions.  The ability to influence upward, laterally, and downward without direct line authority is imperative.  The incumbent’s actions need to establish him/her as resource and partner in improving and maintaining, at minimum, regulatory compliance and strive toward best practice through people-driven safety efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum BA or BS.
  • A minimum of five years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required.
  • Several years of work-related experience, on-the-job training, and/or vocational training required. Certification in professional safety is preferred. ASP, CSP, EIT, FPE qualified.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
  • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.
  • Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.

Primary Objective

The HSSE Specialist assists with preparation and coordination of filing of permit applications normally associated with the oil and gas industry.  Providing technical support on HSSE and regulatory reporting. In addition, the role will provide general support to the HSSE team on the development and implementation of campaigns and programs as they arise. The HSSE Specialist will report to the VP HSSE.

Major Functions and Scope

  • Technical focal point for HSSR and regulatory reporting systems (Synergi, XEM)
  • Interface with field based personnel for data gathering
  • Recording, logging, and analyzing HSSE and regulatory data for both Contractors and the company
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required of the company, Stakeholders, State and Federal bodies
  • Provide logistical support to promotional campaigns and HSSE programs
  • Provide document management and control for the HSSE team
  • Prepare and deliver training material for reporting systems

Education

Preferably a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in environmental science or a related field (or willing to pursue a degree)

Experience

1-5 years in the Oil & Gas industry, including regulatory or related environmental work experience.

Competencies

  • Strong analytical and computer skills using standard office based packages to a highly proficient level (Excel Pro as an example)
  • Experience with proprietary HSSE databases (Synergi, XeM) would be an advantage
  • Ability to prepare professional presentation packages for HSSE Team use
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to maintain composure and work well under pressure
  • Experience with creating and maintaining databases

  • Excellent planning / organizing and self-monitoring skills
  • Effectively recognize and focus efforts on priority tasks
  • Ability to work within a Team environment

Position Description:

Ensure proper booking of operational business transactions into the company’s general ledgers.   Assist in all aspects of accounting for the company’s daily operations by participating in the monthly closings, accounts payable and receivable processing, preparation of financial statements, and maintenance of financial schedules and subsidiary ledgers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the authorization for expenditure (AFE) process.  Activities include such things as receiving a request from engineering or operations for a new AFE, documenting the request in the appropriate systems, working with finance to determine budget status of the request, routing the request to receive required approvals, setting up a unique system identifier so that appropriate charges can be accumulated and identified as part of the AFE, etc.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts; recommend appropriate accounting actions, etc.
  • Track 3rd party salt-water disposal activity and prepare monthly accrual for annual revenue from this activity.
  • Coordinate with gas scheduling to track volumetric data required to meet state regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Create and maintain daily accounting volume tracker from SCADA / gas scheduling inputs.
  • Work with peers to analyze accounting data and prepare / input journal vouchers to accrue appropriate, revenues and expenses, book assets, liabilities, etc.
  • Participate with the accounting team to ensure fulfillment of accounting/finance team objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Accounting
  • 1-2 years post collegiate accounting work experience
  • Experience and/or background in the oil and gas industry is HIGHLY preferred
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • MS Excel and MS Office, intermediate skills needed.
  • Must be able to interact calmly and confidently with peers and a diverse group of engineering and operations colleagues.

  • Ensure electrical plant designs and changes are in accordance with the National Electrical Code.
  • Training and supervision plant electrical employees, including but not limited to: performance appraisals, corrective actions, employee records, etc.
  • Review Work Orders and log sheets and take corrective action when needed.
  • Responsible for the safety of all electrical personnel, housekeeping in electrical area(s), and maintaining all electrical control rooms.
  • Conduct Root Cause investigations of any electrical equipment failures, maintain records of any failed electrical equipment, and generate reports on electrical equipment failures.
  • Monitor labor requirements and make necessary adjustments.
  • Monitor electrical parameters and maintenance of both the HYDRO and PYRO plan
  • Inspect the 69 KV substation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • A minimum of five years work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required.
  • Several years of work-related experience, on-the-job training, and/or vocational training required. Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
